The National Art Education Association Student Chapter at Northern Arizona University is a valuable network of teachers, students, artists, and community members all striving for the advancement of meaningful, standards-based art education.
Through constructive and student-initiated activities, NAU art education students supplement their studies with much needed hands-on practice. The NAEA Student Chapter at NAU achieves this through professional development workshops, community outreach, fundraising, and advocacy.
Welcome back! Hopefully you had a rejuvenating summer vacation and are ready for another round of learning fun! ;}
Here at the student chapter we're ready and willing to work together to create a better student chapter, one to be envied by all those other student chapters we'll be seeing at the NAEA National Conference in Minneapolis! However, in order to do that, we need your help. The student chapter is here, waiting anxiously for your input and participation.
So, you're probably wondering what the student chapter can do for you. Well, we can do a lot for you, including (but not limited to) professional development, teaching experience, networking, community outreach, and just having good 'ol fun with people who understand the frustrations and joys of being a future art educator.
Now that you know the basics of what the student chapter can do for you, tell us what you can do for it! The student chapter relies solely on student participation and without you, we're nothing. Last year, participation was very low, so let's work together to make this a strong year!
In the next couple weeks expect to see a new and improved, visually pleasing student chapter bulletin board in the infamous art ed room at NAU. Oh, and our first meeting is coming up in the near future as well, so check back here for updates or Join our Newsletter. As you can see by the bold lettering, this is important if you want to be an active member. Not only is this mailing list the most efficient and necessary way to communicate with you (I have a life, okay, and I refuse to sit at my computer entering in fifty e-mail addresses for one bulk e-mail), but it's also your lifeline when it comes to upcoming chapter events, activities, special announcements, and more!
Don't forget to check back here once a week for updates relating to the chapter. I look forward to working with everyone and having a successful year!

...so we can meet you! Make sure to introduce yourself if you have a class with one of us, there's only four of us and a lot of you and it's hard to remember every single art ed person. Not only will you get the inside scoop on local chapter happenings as they happen, but you'll get the inside scoop on art ed happenings from coast to coast.

Everytime I am asked my favorite Art or Artist I am just overwelmed...I have so many and everyday I see new art and artists and discover more about art and artists and saying I think this or that one is my favorite would turn me into a betrayer of all those I hold near and dear to me over my life and changes.
OK, ok, I'm just an Art SLUT! There I said it! I'm just a slut for art. I'm not even an art whore, you don't even have to bribe or pay me! I just love it, all it's forms and media…

Hi everyone, I hope you've all had a great summer! I've been very busy, working 2 jobs and having an art show at Rainbow's End! My Fear No Art shirts sold so well there, the owner bought a bunch more to sell! So please stop by Rainbow's End and check out my table of stuff! I have new colors and styles that I think are really fun. I got this shimmery purple ink that I love, and I used it a lot. Also onesies, if you know any arty babies! Of course the store has marked everything up, but I also…

The eerie Jaws music is playing in the background... Something is approaching quick and lives will undoubtedly be changed. It's the 2007-08 school year and I was so busy having fun I didn't even see it coming!
Okay, maybe I did see it coming, and maybe I am being a bit dramatic (best actress award in my high school play, yeah!). In fact, instead of a shark, the approaching school year seems more like a road trip. It will be tiring, but all worth it and hopefully will change us for the b… Continue
